Return to work

Off work due to injury?

If your injury is preventing you from working, you are likely to be eligible for additional support from ACC to help you get back to work.

Willis Street Physiotherapy are proud to be working in partnership with ACC Vocational Contract holders to deliver ACC’s Vocational Rehabilitation Service.

Who is this service for?

The service is designed to assist people with an accepted ACC claim and who are currently not working at their full capacity.  This includes;

  • People who are off work completely
  • People who are working but with imitations
  • People who are working but considering having to stop work due to their injury

What does the service involve?

This is a fully funded, work focused rehabilitation service where we collaborate with you, your employer and your doctors to come up with a plan to get you back to being able to do your work tasks. We will meet you at your workplace, and assess your work environment and tasks, so we know exactly what type of strength and function is needed for you to be able to safely return to work.

If you can do modified duties or a different job role during your recovery, then we will discuss these options with you and your employer and come up with a plan that works for everyone.

We have an agreement with gyms and swimming pools across the region so we can set you up with an accessible rehabilitation programme that works for you.

How to access this service

If appropriate to your injury, your physiotherapist can refer to the Vocational Rehabilitation Service (VOC). This service is available to people with an accepted ACC claim who are receiving or likely to be entitled to weekly compensation due to their injury.  The service is designed to enable people to remain at work, return to work, find new work, or become work ready.

If you would like to learn more about this service, please contact us at info@willisstreetphysiotherapy.co.nz and we’ll put you in touch with one of our physiotherapists.
